For the first time the event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario.

Athletics Ontario is the governing body for running and track and field in Ontario.

They are the provincial representative for Athletics Canada which is a member of World Athletics.

    What does a sanction mean?
It means that the event has been reviewed by an Athletics Ontario qualified staff member and meets the minimum standards for a safety, insurance, course layout, timing and various other best practices for the operation of a run/walk event.

The sanction will also help increase our marketing reach as notification will go to all Athletics Ontario members.

This will help increase our numbers and our donation.
